Peter Ou was born in China in 1768 to a non-Christian family. Once missionaries arrived in his area, he was one of the first to convert, taking the name Peter as his baptism name. He owned and operated a large hotel, and he enthusiastically preached Christianity to anyone who came by. He was imprisoned in 1814 by a government anti-religion movement, and eventually sentenced to death for refusing to apostatize by stepping on a crucifix.
CHALLENGE
Every time someone crosses our path it’s an opportunity to evangelize. You don’t have to stand on a street corner, but it’s not hard to simply talk about how you’re living your faith life as part of everyday conversation. Today, whether it’s the cashier at the grocery store, a coworker, or a neighbor, when you have the opportunity in conversation to talk about your faith… do it.
