The Saint Challenge Day 35 – Blessed Jean-Baptiste Fouque – December 5

Born in 1851 in Marseille, France, Jean-Baptiste Fouque grew up in a faith-filled household. At the age of 24, he was ordained a priest. Under the direction of his superior, he founded homes for orphaned and abandoned girls and boys. During World War I, he worked to help the wounded and those displaced by the war. After the war, he convinced some doctors to donate their time and skills and opened a hospital for the poor. Jean-Baptiste served the same parish for 38 years.

CHALLENGE

Blessed Jean-Baptiste Fouque also opened a home for the elderly. Today, commit to visiting a nursing home, assisted living community, or senior care facility sometime before Christmas. Your goal for this visit is to bring the joy of Christmas and the light of Christ to the people who live and work there.
