The Saint Challenge Day 152 – Blessed Natalia Tulasiewicz – March 31

Natalia Tulasiewicz was born in Poland in 1906. She grew up to become a school teacher, and she was always very active in her parish. When the Nazis invaded Poland, she joined the Polish Underground and she was arrested and persecuted with other Catholics who the Nazis identified as troublemakers. She was imprisoned, tortured, ridiculed in public, and then sent off to a concentration camp where she was sentenced to forced labor. While in the camps she ministered to other prisoners and catechized them. On Good Friday, 1945, she got up on a stool in her barracks and gave an impassioned speech about the passion and death of Christ. Two days later, on Easter Sunday, she was martyred in the gas chamber.

CHALLENGE

Blessed Natalia Tulasiewicz wrote in her diary, “My mission is to show the world that the road to holiness also goes through noisy markets and streets, and not only in monasteries or in quiet families. I want holiness for thousands of souls.” She was identified as a troublemaker because she was passionate about spreading the gospel for the salvation of souls. Today, contemplate how you can be the same kind of “troublemaker”.
