Born in Italy in the 4th Century, Romanus of LeMans was ordained by his uncle who was a bishop. St. Romanus was then sent out to be a missionary in southwest France. He is most widely known for being a lousy preacher. He was an introvert and shy. Despite this, Romanus still managed to win numerous converts among the pagans. He quietly spread the Gospel message, especially with the sailors in his area. He also healed the sick through his quiet prayer, cast out demons, tended to the dead and dying, and comforted mourners.
