The Saint Challenge Day 70 – Blessed Pauline-Marie Jaricot – January 9

The youngest of seven children, Pauline-Marie Jaricot was born in 1799 in Lyon, France, where her father owned a silk factory. When she was 17 she heard a moving homily and shortly after, on Christmas day, she took a vow of perpetual virginity in a small Marian chapel just outside of town. Her fervent love of Jesus and her relationship with God have led some to call her a mystic similar to St. Catherine of Siena. Inspired one day during prayer, she organized a group of people to support the missions. The group grew rapidly and eventually became the Pontifical Society of the Propagation of the Faith.

CHALLENGE

One of the devotions Blessed Pauline-Marie Jaricot started was called the Living Rosary, where 15 friends each commit to saying one of the decades of the Rosary every day, for the intentions of the group. Today, start this devotion by reaching out to 14 of your friends.
